JANIS MAY ANDERSEN Janis May Andersen was born May 18, 1924, at her home in Fletcher Chapel, the daughter of Orville E. and Margaret (Brink) Bornholdt. She attended grade school at Fletcher Chapel and Rorbeck and high school in ElkHorn. Janis was married to Wilbert Frederick Andersen on January 14, 1944. The couple was blessed with a daughter and two sons. Janis did alterations in her home and was employed as a waitress at Atlantic Golf and Country Club. She retired in 1989 after 17 years of employment with the club. She is survived by her daughter Judy Norman of Blue Springs, NE; 3 sons, Lynn Andersen (Gayla) of Freeman, MO, David Andersen (Lisa) of Atlantic and Richard Diehl (Gail) of Scurry, TX; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; four brothers, Ross Bornholdt (Jean) of Walnut, Donald Bornholdt (Marlis) of Atlantic, Max Bornholdt (Joan) of Walnut and Robert Bornholdt (Judy) of Kimballton: two sisters, Helen Marxen of Atlantic and Darlene Hess (Dewey) of Harlan; sisters-in-law, Mickey Bornholdt of Atlantic, Janet Bornholdt of Atlantic, Judy (Bornholdt) Williams of Weatherford, TX and Betty Debord (Wayne)of Atlantic; and numerous nieces and nephews. Janis was preceded in passing by her parents; husband Wilbert; brothers, Carl, Arlin and Everett; brother-in-law John Marxen Jr.; a grand daughter Michelle Jeter; and her in-laws, William and Anna Andersen. Funeral InformationHer funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 1 at the Saint Paul Lutheran Church. Pastor Dennis Meyer will officiate. Janis’ committal service will follow in the Atlantic Cemetery. There will be open visitation from 8:00 to 5:00 daily at Roland Funeral Home until the family will meet with relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 31 at the funeral home.
