MARTIN STUETELBERG
Martin Dean Stuetelberg, 60, of Omaha and formerly of Atlantic and Wiota, passed away at Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska on Monday, January 11, 2010.
Marty Stuetelberg was born the son of Harold and Delma Stuetelberg, in Atlantic, Iowa, on Nov 30, 1949. His family made their home on their farm east of Wiota. He attended Wiota and Anita schools, graduating with the Anita High School Class of 1969. He attended college at Iowa Western Community College, later entering the Iowa National Guard and the U.S. Army for 21 years, in which he served in South Korea and Germany.

Marty had been employed with Hunt's Family Farms, and had several other jobs, most recently with Lozier manufacturing in Omaha until his illness. Marty was a friend to everyone he met and always enjoyed getting together with his family. He will be remembered for his love of collecting toy tractors and cars. He also loved the outdoors and horses. He was a former member of Nishna Valley Chordsmen.

His survivors include his wife Cheryl; his children Brian Fagan and wife Tammy, Kevin Petersen, Joy Petersen, Matt Knuth, Beau Stuetelberg and Martha Stuetelberg; his mother and her husband Bill Bennett; his sisters, Nancy Nolte and Lori Schroder and husband Fay; step children, Shannon and Roger Johnson of Omaha; grandchildren, Kelsey, Katelynn and Karly Fagan and Tyler Beeck; step grandchildren, Ashley and Scott Gooch of Omaha; a large number of brothers and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews and beloved cats JD, Angel and Katie was Marty's baby girl.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father in 2006; his brother Allan Lynn in 1950; and a niece Kimberly in 1983.

Funeral Information

Marty's funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 16 at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. There will be a committal following, with military honors, in the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic. There will be open visitation from 8:00 to 5:00 daily, through Thursday, and family will meet with relatives and friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
