Helen Rabe, age 95, passed away early on Monday morning, January 4, 2010, at the Griswold Care Center in Griswold, Iowa where she had resided since 2001.
Helen Mae Bonnet was born, weighing only three pounds, on May 19, 1914 to Albert & Eva (Brightman) Bonnet in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Helen loved helping her husband with farm work and doing chores with their Jersey cows. She enjoyed her family and gardening. The two of them loved to dance.
Among her survivors are her daughters, Bonnie Knott of Griswold, IA and Sharon Ellis and husband Butch of rural Cumberland, IA; her six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and her half-sister Wilma Thomsen of Edwards, Missouri.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband; a son-in-law, Merlyn Berg; a granddaughter, Pamela Berg; a sister Gwenlyn Curtis; her brother Carroll Bonnet; and a half brother Willis Thomsen.
