Ralph CrozierAugust 15, 1921 - January 14, 2010
Ralph L. Crozier, 88, long time resident of Adair, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa. Ralph was born the son of Byron D. Crozier and Lena (Aupperle) Crozier on August 15, 1921 south east of Anita, Iowa. He grew up south of Anita, attending schools there and graduating from Anita High School. Ralph was married to Virginia Adell Nelsen on December 29, 1948 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita. The couple rented a farm south of Anita and later bought a farm south of Adair. They were blessed with a family of five sons and four daughters. He will be remembered for the loving care he had for his family and also for his love of farming. Survivors include his wife Virginia; five sons, Gregory Crozier and wife Raymona of Persia, Norman Crozier of Council Bluffs, Thomas Crozier of Adair, Galen Crozier and wife Mary of Corning, and Ronald Crozier and wife Amy of Ankeny; two daughters, Barbara Pilcher and husband Ronald of Ankeny and Roberta Schrader and husband Marcus of Tigard, Oregon; 29 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Betty Crozier of Atlantic and Mary Ann Stegen and husband Dean of Strawberry Point, Iowa; a brother-in-law Folmer "Pete" Nelsen of rural Anita; a number of nieces and nephews and many close friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Carol Kay in 1964 and Colleen Marie Hoffman in 1994; his grandson Brian Crozier in 2007; and his brother Leonard Crozier in 2008. Pastor Ted Weishaupt will officiate. There will be open visitation at Roland Funeral Home from mid-afternoon until 5:00 Friday; from 8:00 to 5:00 on Saturday; and on Sunday from noon until family will meet with friends from 5:00 to 7:30 P.M.
